facts of life: travel flashbacks

Once upon a time, I visited Poland. Going back to places like Lodz, or Budapest, has already triggered some nice memories. Looking forward to Riga. But it is one thing to remember an impressive city center, and another to recognize smaller details along the road.

It happened today. Once we left Blonie after lunch, I had to fuel up. It took me about 3 seconds to recognize a gas station where I had stopped 4 years ago. That image was clear in my mind, and it took me back to the days of my first long roadtrip. I feel vaguely at home again.

  1. It always feel great to experience the nostalgia from those flashbacks. How time flies by very quickly.
