facts of life: the importance of a family meal

Throughout this trip, we have been treated to the finest restaurants, or have had food prepared for us, or have resorted to sandwiches, or have ordered pizza, or have scrapped any remains we could find, or have cooked the food outside the building and taken turns with the available dishes and bowls.

But the process of preparing a home cooked meal is rare. Going for groceries, cooking everything, setting a place at the table for each person, using that bourgeois luxury that is a napkin... wow. The last time we did that, we were in Mohács, Hungary, between the Danube and a minefield.
